Well, I'm ashamed to say that I didn't think of this.
I retract my idea to limit SH5 to the Cold-War. As you've hinted at, a near future theoretical campaign could be what we need, a Red Storm Rising like scenario anyone? I just wanted to see a sim incorporating Post WW II diesel/electric subs and some of the early Nukes, including the odd reactor leak and everything!
