Im allso runing a dual core chip, an opteron 165 and have performed numerous benchmarks using programs like 3dmark and everest among others aswell as gaming benchmark tests. With my DDR modules i have found that timings are great indeed, but only to a point since really, the throughput of DDR is its limiting factor by now. Anyway expecting to reach the exact theoretical maximum is a bit too optimistic, because 100% efficency is not tomething that is reachable under normal conditions, here the speed at which electrons move will finaly become the obstacle ,but geting even that close is...well lets just say bloody unlikely.
Anyway this is the kind of memory performance i can expect all day, any day and as you can see i even have programs runing in the background so by no means the ideal circumstances.
Memory read
Memory Write
Memory copy
Memory latence
From what you can see here from the latency picture is that my higly overclocked machine runing DDR is only marginally quicker than not overclocked systems with DDR2
