My experience is: no , you don't get credit after a reload.
My last experience was a wonderful convoy, 2 sunk and 2 wounded to death, I saved and went to bed.
Next day I loaded and wanted to watch the final steps of my success. They sunk, but I got no tonnage credit for it.
I reloaded again and shelled one of them with the deck gun, that worked for me.
