I think I may have been misunderstood. I can see why rolling back SHcommander after playing could be a safe bet if you apply different mods on a regular basis, but my point was that I don't change my installation from one month to the next, unless of course a major GWX update is released. Therefore, I don't consider it essential to rollback SHcommander after each playing session. When I fired up SHcommander this morning and hit the 'launch SH3 button', at the bottom of the SHcommander window it said it was rolling back its current settings and afterwards said something like applying current settings, then SH3 starts loading. This implies to me that SHcommander rolls back every time you start SH3 via Commander then re-applies your preferred settings before SH3 launches. What it doesn't do is rollback automatically after you exit SH3 and hence the reason for the pop up.

You both are correct.

The first thing SH3Cmdr does when the "Launch SH3!" button is pressed is an auto-rollback.

If you are 500% sure that you will make no changes between sessions, then you can ignore the above prompt and let SH3Cmdr manage the files by itself. However, if you have any doubts or simply don't trust yourself, then it's good practice to manually rollback when prompted. Needless to say, I recommend following the prompt. But each to their own.
