If you want to have not any more them, remove them... but maintain the effect number order... the remaining effects you have must be in order with no losses.

In example... if you have 3 effects listed, and the oil trace is the # 2, if you remove it, just change the #3 as #2 to maintain order.

Thanks for the reply Redwine.

I have a folder where I copied the entire SH4 installation (patched to 1.3) before I modded anything or even ran the game. In other words, pristine. In that folder is a data\zones.cfg file. And in that file are three entries under the uboat items section with the oil_trace entries. They are:

[DieselEngineRoom]
Effect2=#Oil_trace, 20

[FltEngineRoom]
Effect2=#Oil_trace, 20

[OilLeak]
Effect1=#Oil_trace, 20

The only difference between this and the modded install is the [FltEngineRoom] entry has the effect boosted to 80 from the original 20. I'll go ahead and reduce it to the stock value and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks again for your help.

JD
You are right, those entries are there.

But reducing the value, you will increase the anoying effect you are attempting to fix.

80 is the damage vale at with the effect is triggered, then, if you reduce it to 20, you will have this effect early.

I can remember now, by recall, if that value was, hitpoints consumed or percent of max hitpoints... any way that i wrote abov is valid in any way.

To reduce the effect, you need to rise up the value to trigger the effect later, or to remove it at all...

Let me to know if you was successful with this...
