Yeah, I like that fact that when I find somethign to shoot, my heart starts beating a little faster. In stock, contacts become so routine.

I remember playing Warbirds ages ago in the Historical Arena (very limited icons, everything turned on realism wise, historical plane matchups, etc). I was flying from New Guinea in a P-40, and after a long long time flying to no avail, I spotted a dot. I closed, and below me was a lone Zero. I set up and dived on him---and seriously, me heart was in my throat. After over an hour (real time) with no contacts I was so excited to see a target, and I didn;t want to blow it. As I dove below him (to come up slightly low 6) I was thinking, "he MUST see me, he's waiting to break so I blow my E." I ended up with a clean bounce and killed him, but it was a huge rush.

Another time a buddy and I were flying a practice for a Coral Sea event, and we stumbled upon a large formation of jap CV planes also in practice. Same drill, long flight, no action, then a short, intense fight, and suddenly no contacts anywhere again.
