You should encourage harbor accidents. Just today, I hit my escort on the way out of Wihelmshavn. Bernard was in the tower while I was down below confiscating contraband... I went up for a smoke and.... "Whoa, BACK FULL, HARD TO STARBOARD!!"
Whanged her at 5 knots, and it was the rudder over hard that saved us. Sounded like a sheet metal shop sh*tting peach pits for a few seconds, but we didn't get a scratch on us. You really can't beat a VIIB for off-road fun, but I still made Bernard bunk in tube 5 for a week.
And after that bad start? 12 ships, 84K tons, set up a good solution on Nelson inside the Hebrides (but couldn't fire; 2K m in broad daylight with calm seas; they would have nailed me), hattricked a pyro, LM and an LT in one convoy, shot down an Anson, and still got home in 23 days.
So... from now on... I am just going to ram Tirpitz on the way out... for luck, you know.
