Since I'm new at this I usually get to within 1000m. Even then I miss when I'm not paying attention to AoB or the gyroangle. Last night I did manage to hit a coastal merchant from about 2500m.

I was happy with myself. Of course I had to launch from that far because I miscalculated on my approach and was at 2500 instead of 1000m.
