Good question! My firing range.....depends on the tactic im using.
... And weather, torpedo type, uboat type, depth under keel, convoy or single merchant, and what type of escort/DD/bad @ss enemy units in the vicinity.. Sometimes i get really close, to ensure a clean hit (If the target isnt protected well), and vice versa.. Sometimes i get bold, and surface in the middle of a convoy, and spraying the enemy with torps before i return to the dark, cold safety of the deep ocean.. Just my 2 cents...
