Monarch are not averse to a bit of diversion action as far as I know. I remember flying on one of their Boeing 720's from Spain to the UK once in place of a Dan Air London Boeing 727 that had broken down in the UK - with about 10 people on the flight it was kind of like having your own private jet. Otherwise known as 'The Lead Sled' because of the lack of hydraulic assistance on the control surfaces, the 720 was a cool aeroplane, you should have heard the racket it made when the gear came down! Won't forget that flight in a hurry, good old Monarch
