- When was the last time you saw a traffic cop on a motorway? Are the police really that dependent on speed cameras and 'deterrents' that they dont even bother patrolling anymore?
We now have enforcement officers patrolling motorways, they have no power of arrest but they can call in persuit officers if need be.
- How many times have you seen a driver (be it truck, car, moped) break the law as you drove behind them?
All the time and i admit to have done that was well, talking on the radio while driving is also against the law your not allowed to use the hand held mike while driving thats why we have push buttons on our gear changer so it acts like a hands free kit.
- How come a man on his mobile phone got only 6 points on his license, a £250 fine and a slap on the wrist for hitting a 12 year old girl on a pavement whilst on his mobile phone?
Typical cant see past thier nose leniancy i dont answer my phone period in a car unless i am stopped or some one else is with me then il talk through the other person.
- There was an occasion when we were almost hit head on by an impatient motorist who tried to overtake another car and only in the last few seconds pulled back into their own lane. If we had hit that car, I wouldnt have been typing this, and thats no exaggeration. She* was then observed to be insulting the motorist in front of her.
If you got her registration no harm in reporting her to the police for road rage and dangerous driving.
Lets be honest now. People are being arrested and taken to court for putting their feet on the seat on a train, when Irish haulage drivers are left to get away with transporting a dock container on an ordinary flatbed**. What the hell is wrong here?!
There is a diffrence between trailers, flatbeds are completely flat flooring have streghtend bars under the flooring and a wooden floor, container trailers are like skellingtons hence why they are called Skellys they have the locking mechanisms on 8 points of the trailers and just look like a container shell.
*This is in no way a generalisation. She was a woman
** You're supposed to have locking mechanisms on the corners and middle of a dock container to stop it from sliding off the flatbed. This trucker had neither.
If he didnt have any swivvle locks on his container and he has managed to hit the open road with it still on the back of the trailer id be quite shocked, bear in mind its incredibly difficault to see the acctual locks from the road, you have to be near on close up to see them, and whats more is when they come off the ships all the skellys (trailers) have them fitted pre ready.
