To be honest, they're long overdue. They have some meeean tools this year, its just moulding them together into a machine that works on all cylinders. To me, Cleveland's biggest downfall has been their inability to work together. I know that sounds a bit harsh, but knowing who your go-to receivers are with so many newcomers HAS to throw you off a bit.
If you look at the Panthers, we didnt change a whole lot offensively. We signed David Carr as Delhommes backup, who may actually produce good things with Steve Smith and Keary Colbert, but we also lost Kris Mangum (one of the best TE's in the game) and Keyshawn Johnson, tough guys to replace. It'll be interesting to see how Carolina gets over this, especially when Jake seems to rely on an understanding of who he's throwing to.
