Correct.

Capt. Eugene Flukey had his own brand of decoys. On his second patrol, he asked for a empty milk can to be filled up with oil and thrown overboard to give the DD's something to depth charge. On his third patrol, he did something similar, except he fired it out one of the stern torpedo tubes.
