American boats could certainly fire a salvo, it just happened differently.
It should be in the game, IMO...
Skipper: We'll fire tubes 1, 2, and 4. I want a 2 degree spread. Final bearing and shoot. Mark.
Crew: Firing tube 1... (8 seconds) firing tube 4... (8 seconds) firing tube 2.
The TDC wasn't set up to fire a spread, the CREW set up the spread. They'd not fire at once since they worried about torpedoes setting each other off, so they'd spread them out in time 8-10 seconds.
SH4 forces the skipper to do every little job, but as far as the captain was concerned, there might as well have been a "salvo" button.
Reminds me of a line in
Zulu. Bromhead offers to clean Chard's tunic so he'll look smart for the lads, and Chard says Bromhead needn't go to the trouble. Bromhead's line? "It's no trouble, old boy, I wasn't going to do it
myself."
