1. American Boats did not have the option to fire salvos like the germans did. If you want to fire a salvo lock onto the ship, fire first torpedo at 0 gyro angle, wait six seconds set a new gyro angle on TDC fire again, wait another six seconds and repeat. and you'll get a spread shot.
2. I dont think american boats had the same choice in upgades.
