hi seafarer, just one thing I could see I still did not like was the sky, it still looked a little like 2D. So I turn up the gamma a little more in the nvidia setting and the contrast and then put the grain effects back on. With that setting I could hardly see the grain effects and now the sky looks just right at 1680x1050. Strange I guess but it works for me.

The moon rays and moon light also look alot better with the grain effects on. With my old monitor the gain effects looked really bad. Just wondering, do you have the grain effects on or off..?
Thanks for the info minsc_tdp, I'II look into that and I'II disable Image Sharpening.
Sounds like a good monitor with the ATI Tray Tool Redwine.
Thanks everyone for the info and replys.
