edit: stupid me - somehow i overread you said you're not using any modified camera.dat
anyways - i'm currently trying to make that "walking-the-deck-cam" feel more organic meaning have it sway slightly so you're really feeling like your're watching out of someones eyes standing on the ship instead of the feeling you get by having the camera tightly fixed at some point around the ship. this might not be everyones taste since i mainly started doing this for myself although if others finds this worth a look i'll gladly share
btw. i just checked. i can still use all my keys as before... dunno how that mod you're trying to use works but for me the keys stay the same.
