T'would be nice if people realised that the fabled SDK is not the panacea to all SH3 problems, like wolfpacks, fully behaved AI subs etc. There's certainly a misunderstanding and incorrect belief in this community that SDK = wolfpacks. It's not gonna happen without the source code guys...and I reckon I'll be long gone off this planet before that's released.
I agree with Ref, I think the community has developed most of the tools that the SDK would provide anyway. I don't think the SDK would provide much more (and remember, there's more tools "behind the scenes" than just the ones already out there - I've developed
at least eighteen tools to facilitate easier modification and error identification of SH3 campaign and related files which are shared amongst modders on a needs basis).
Although, if UBI chose to release the technical specs, I think they *would* help modellers by a) adding the missing pieces to the content of some of the files - no more guess work, and b) explaining some of the design decisions taken.

And I'm still not convinced that there isn't a hardcoded limit to random ship selection, like there seems to be for skins. Would be pointless if there's 50 type "x" ships but SH3 only selects from 10 of them.
For me, life after retiring from GWX 1.04 development last month was the birth of my gorgeous daughter a few weeks ago.

Any modding for me now is indeed a very low priority.
