Good information guys. Thanks. I'm not gripen mind you. I'm proud to serve the Father land in any capacity that our great leaders deem fit.

I kinda like this little Type IID boat. Just wish it had one more topedo though. I ran into a C3 last night at the beginning of the patrol & it took 4 solid hits to sink the thing. It just didn't want to stop running & sink...
I sent the first torpedo right down the centerline & it exploded in the front 1/3 directly under the keel. It just kept coming right at me & finely slowed to 7 knots or I would never have been able to catch it. I couldn't surface without getting bombed from above. The British have a lot of aircraft doing sub searching by 1940. I have had to dive at least 10 times in the last 2 patrols. I just stay down during the day now. It's safer that way...lol..
I would imagine that the actual u-boat captains ran into the same problem from time to time with torps not doing enough bang for the mark....

I'm going to stay in this area between The British Isles & Norway...see how it plays out. It's so shallow though that I would imagine that my days are going to be very short. Once the Brits get better finding equipment I'll be fish bait.....
