Check the forum numbers on this one, there are still many, many playing SH3 Some are playing both SH3 and SH4 ( including me ), some folks just SH4 and so on.... Two great sims, two great theatres.

The two are different games\theatres, different experiences. In the Pacific you are travelling over larger expanses, patroling ( multiple objectives ) more specific regions, in the Atlantic things are a bit more wide open. Your best bet is to check out some of the threads here, do a bit more research.

By the way if you do plan to play SH4 in the future it is a bit of a computer hog
( the game looks awsome by the way, check out the LBO Mod on the SUBSIM Front Page ), looking at your specs, the game would crawl at best, 1gig of ram reccommended, 2gig is ideal.
