It's just one of those things that makes SHIV not quite the high fidelity sim it should/could be.
what is S3D?

You can still do it with TM1.5. You just have to plot some points as the ships move and project their course from there. It really is no harder than using plain vanilla SH4, just a couple extra steps. And of course we don't have ship silhouettes and little spikes to clue us on direction of movement. Good riddance, I say! Like you, I use map contact updates. I consider that an analog to the real practice of testing the TDC prediction against real position to refine the PK. If we retained the silhouettes and adjustable torpedo path, it would be cheating in my opinion. But I think Ducimus did it right there.
I miss the pretty colors but I'm having a blast with Trigger Maru. It would be really nice to have a radar range plot just like we already have a circle for visual range and the representation of sonar range as well. Again, that's an appeal to already overworked modders who need some playing time to get their enthusiasm back.
And then patch 1.4 will come out to work them to a frazzle again.

Thanks modders! We wouldn't be having this much fun without you.
