I'm afraid patrolling a few hours more won't increase the chances of a rare occurrence as I've played a lot and I've tried sending these reports a lot. The button gets highlighted on mouseover, but there just doesn't appear to be any functions connected to it. Oh and just so there is no misunderstanding, I am on the surface and the contact is within visible range. Anyone know if we get "renown" points for sending them? Because if not, then I'm not really missing out much. However if we are, and worse there is a penalty for being lazy on the contact reports, then...
