I thought the end represented, in microcosm, was every day of Tony's life must be like. He is always waiting for the shoe to drop.

How did you picture the ending. In that resturant the guys they show were all connected to previous episodes. The Truck driver who was sitting down eating had a brother who was killed by Christopher, the guy sitting at the bar was the nephew or brother? of one of the bosses that got hit, and the blackguys that walk in once tried to kill Tony.
But he leaves it up to the viewer to decide what happens, did Tony get taken out by one of them or maybe they took out the whole family? Mobsters dont take out the wife/kids ? Or maybe nothing happened and they live happily ever after.
Maybe just maybe a new series is in the making? (I doubt it.)
