I made some tests with the gwx1.03 AI and my results are, that late war destroyers can detect me while submerged and engines off (in a depth of 180 meters). the destroyer switches on his active sonar 200 meters in front of my position, but he cant know, that i am there. and he couldnt hear me because of my engines, which do not run. i read something about Ubersonar with bugs in it, thats why i am looking for this mod, which could perhaps help me to make the AI less powerfull. i checked the forum for AI mods, the only i found was the sonarDC Mod from Jungman. i tried to use the AI_sensors.dat from Rubinis alert_crew mod, but no luck. all the links for the sonarDC mod are dead...
