By "listening" to the diesels (actually more like feeling the vibrations through your ear...try it!) an experienced mechanic, like our friend Johann, would be able to pick up on impending faults like worn bearings, crankshaft problems etc. :hmm:
Or maybe he just gets a kick out of it...
