Another ironic note: he's the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia
Another interesting fact: Zhirinovsky largely gets his (fortunately limited) electoral support because he's LOUD and he'll yell about this and that issue in similar tones all over, he'll fight in parliament with those that disagree with him - and then when it comes to key votes in parliament, his party unfailingly goes with the government's (i.e. Yeltsin's before, Putin's now) general will.
It's rather sad actually that his party is basically the last non-communist opposition (or "opposition" - I don't think clowning really counts as opposition) remaining in Russia's politics. Other liberal-democratic parties have, for all intents, died long ago.
