It sucks more if you didn't see it coming
Was doing a succesful escape about 2 kts at 220 meters, after a succesful convoy attack, and still close to the convoy. Couldn't get it up at that speed (the boat I mean), so had to make noise. Then they heard me. Cought in this dilemma, I wasted too much time and depth, and imploded at about 200 meters.
That really sucked.
Was a good career.
