Just to levelset: are you trying to compact the 360 bearing tool file in a winrar file?
or are you trying to install the
360 bearing tool mod?
If it is the latter, uncompress the winrar file (it is like winzip)
1) If you do not have this utility, download and install:
http://www.rarlab.com/ (it's free)
2) Download the 360 mod

a. there is a choice between metric and imperial
3) Double click the
360_Bearing_Plotter_1_4.rar file
4) WinRar will now open the file
5) Extract to an easy to locate folder C:\Temp (or something)
6) Read the readme's for installing, and re: what you are getting into
7) Now take the
360_Bearing_Plotter_1_4 folder and copy into your c:\ program files\Ubisoft\SH4\MODS folder
(this requires the JSGME utility to be installed -in doing so a \MODS folder will be created manually by you)

Install in the main SH4 directory and you should get a folder called "Mods" drag my "360 Degree Bearing Tool" (or any other mod for that matter) over to this folder and activate the "JSGME" exe and the rest is pretty self explainable really."
8) Run the utility, select
360_Bearing_Plotter_1_4, click the
> (button) in JSGME and you are done.
* Note: this mod is also included in several other
SuperMods: Trigger Maru (TM) for one.
