I use my own Super Mod... tentatively titled "Rising Sun"

it consists of: SH4 + Patch 1.2 +

1. Air Folder: Airpower mod (like the one I made for SH3) - increased hitpoints to all aircraft, bug fix for Lancaster Glass cockpit rotation [a little sim file fix] + range fixes. No loadout fixes apart from Tater's fix for one of the bomber hardpoints that wasn't working correctly... Anvarts US-torp bomber fix also..

2. My own Campaign Folder.. Fixed all typos in Dynamic missions, New layers, new ports, Subhunters, Darwin tender, - converted minesweeper to DE, this is unfinished though and complete only to Mid 1942... lots of bug fixes for scripted events etc radio messages fixed for all typos.. lots more changes... Convoys no longer at 5 knots, no tankers with TF's all convoys fixed for columns bugs, etc new battle layers, fix for midway battle, all convoys and TF's scipted layers no longer have a DD as group leader - was causing eratti convoy behaviour..

Cfg Folder - new key commands - airstrike(airpower style) - contacts reduced to 500 op - 2000km - important, gameplay.cfg - similar to Beery's, Sensors and Sim.cfg configured for 10km viewing range and periscopes etc..works well though escorts are too good still.. ships open fire at longer range, more accurate too, hydrophone and sonar sensitivty increased

5. Interior - dial fixes from 1.3, radar steps for AScope and PPI match (Mraah - Anvart). Reduced number size on Ascope so all ranges can be read without overlapping text..

6. Library: Capt Coxes excellent officers cap, Anvarts rotating sonar fix, Reduced reloads of deck guns (Beery) and my own tweaks of sub sensors. Bombs.sim and zon similar to my SH3 airpower mod, camera's tweaked for higher external cam (Beery) new clipping ranges on periscopes, binocs, and TBT to reduce bad clipping of sub bow/stern etc.. includes elevation changes and a zoom change on binocs too.

Depth charges effects increased to get boat shake, nerfed damage to 100-180 2.5to8.5 range.

particles.dat smoke mod..(can't remember who made this - wasn't me - maybe seedler or anvart).

Shells.zon - Beery reduced damage by shells and AA.

CCIP's hardcore torp mod - tweaked to reduce the repetitve gyro angle bug in campaigns

7. Menu:
new help, new menu - typos fixed, new messages etc... beery's roll of honor, my own medals mod -perfect alphas, all line up, awarded in dev's order
Rec manual - oakgroove but tweaked a bit..
New bearings for periscopes, new clock, new crew management etc, sub equipment graphics fixed, new periscope masks for obs and attack (can't remeber who made this - I added a circle to the obs center..), Oakgrooves dials..

new flags for recmanual, size edited so they dont look compressed..

unit icon mod - reduced contact info.. (someone else made this)..

Use US loading screen - like RFB (beery)

New mouse cursors, tweaked slightly and added a better compass - captured from aaron bloods MOBO and tweaked to look good in red mask and without.. very accurate..
menu1024 fixed for all sorts of things included scale on recmanual, new clock dials etc etc etc..

8. Misc:
radar from 1.3 in 1.2, Mraahs PPI modded for red look, Anvarts Sh3controller modded to remove range AND numbers, smaller contacts mod, blank Umark (beery) Wave foam (CCox)

9. Movies: removed all subtitle text ala RFB.. Blank Intro and Logo..Beery also..

10. Multimissions: reduced to two missions

11. Museum: changed time of day

12. Roster: fixes for black ships.. sub SS-number (from LukeFF I think.. maybe)
1 airplane added to Jap ships large than CL, CV airgroups fixed.. roster changes, ship displayed names (no more Split this, composite that, all Marus) added letter codes to rec manual, added converted minesweeper to Japan roster.

13. Sea: random tonnage mod ted healy, krupps sizes mod, slower lifeboats (meridian), clemson jap sailors fix - found this before 1.3! Akitsu rudder fix.. (took some serious modding this one!!!!) nematodes power fixes, Jap DD radar dates changed, Jap DD and SC gun MinElevation fixed (before 1.3 -infact some still dont fire properly in 1.3 I noticed). German armed merchant now flies a german flag.. Jap DD hit points increase by 25%.. lots more that I can't remember.. Fixed animation for survior, used hex from 1.3 file version, but the smoke effect was corrupted, so just fixed animation..

14. Shader: new shader for radar - red colour + blur from 1.3, slow clouds mod, interior illumination shader from 1.3 - stops whiteout bug on sailors - I think..

15+16 Single Missions and Patrols Tweaked - many removed, some new added..

17. Sound: Kosh's steahly sub.., new asdic sound, new blow ballast, new gun sound, Glen Miller gramaphone (posted on here along time ago by someone I can't remeber), In game music ripped from special edition soundtrack - better quality...

No radio mods byt radio text typos fixed to match spoken reports..
Crash dive voice fixes (by someone else)..

18. Submarine: UPC data - fix for porpoise damage model (only conning tower shows red when hit, other compartments had wrong ID number - this may have been fixed in 1.3 I did point it out in the bug thread I think.. ALl subs start with mid war conning towers, CCIP's battery fix, dive times modded, reduced sub hitpoints!! All subs fire deeper - 45m, porpoise surfaced fix (also fixed in 1.3), new peridepths tuned for each sub.. both sonar hoists highlight on subsystem page now, new torps come as standard loadouts in late war (from 1.3)

19. Subschool: missions tweaked.

20. Terrain: Krillers terrain mod - superb stuff this one, needed no tweaking..

21. Textures: Oakgrooves interiors - modded with new books and pictures, Brand new flag mod - less luminous - faint cloth texture look great.. Moon and Sun mods - (someone else)

22. UPC data: career start - ala RFB, Flotilla fixes - rduced freq of special missions. New Crew member names - different to RFB, very good though, works well - no rediculously long names, UPC localization -rank fixes

Scene.dat - 10km vis range mod, less rain, smaller raindrops, fix for flying subs etc

Zones.cfg - wernersobe's slower sinking mod, but still includes hitpoints for all ships, also aircraft components hit points increased too...(as in my SH3 airpower mod- which ended up in GWX I think, along with some of the skins I made for the planes.my catalina is in there I am sure...)


I think thats it...

I have a folder all setup to copy over 1.2 version, this folder is in the region of 820MB!!! So I doubt i'll ever be able to release it (I'm on dial-up ) I also have a similar folder for 1.3 but it is not up to date and I'm not happy with sensors in 1.3 - despite the SD radar fix..
