In stock SH3 there was a damn ugly orange arrow showing where and at what direction your sub was when it was submerged, from the free-look view ofcourse.
Now I can understand why you removed it since it looked like hell and destroyed the realism but I just cant play without it, going mad when I cant find my uboat 
so is there a way so that I can add it back easily?

Cant remember the name of the .tga file that had it, but here's what I do. When you press F12 to go to the external camera, the camera is right above your sub, so I just go straight down and
voila.
