I got Fubar's high res skins too.
I just felt that every texture on my boat was too blurry all the time, no matter what resolution and general settings for my graphics card I played (the driver settings).
Then I realized that it was just a matter of the uboat textures being to small.
Should the GWX 1.03 skins be high res ? Meaning 2048x2048 ?
They weren't with me. There shouldn't be any mod that messed with this point of my installation either.
However, installing Fubar's high res skins did the work, now everything looks great and I like to zoom in on my sub again
