The handle is steel as well, and has the number 37428 stamped on it, and has a button to release the bayonet once it is attached to the rifle. Any idea what I have here, if it is ww2 or what? How much is it worth? Whether the wood has been removed or if it is made like that to save time. It has the sheeve it came in i found it for 33$

do a google search for "K98 bayonet" , gewehr basically just means rifle.Im not sure about the bayonets for the Gewehr 43 (Rifle Model 1943 - a self loading rifle) , but possibliy they used the k98 model.
Edit - ok , Gewehr 43 didnt use a Bayonet.
