We have been waiting for many things from WWIIOL which just do not get delivered. This is the game that broke my gaming heart more than any other. I started playing it, realized what an awesome concept this game is with great potential. I had fun playing with friends, saw the videos of the new terrain and heard of the pipe dream ideas. I realized I was praying that all the "wonderful enhancements" would come to save the game from its dwindling population. I felt like a German soldier who wanted the "wonder weapons" to save Germany before it was too late. Finally I just could not wait any longer, and left the one game that I think has the best concept ever.

I think honestly if they could have done something for the Allies to prevent the frequent steamrolling of their forces more people could have stuck around. Sure for the Axis fanboys it was easy to love a game you win 75 percent of the time, but for Allied players the game simply is not fun. No fun = unsubscribing players. I would have thought Cornered Rat Software could have understood that...

This truly is the game I hate to love, because I know it will let me down in the end. I just can't help but see all that unfulfilled potential.

As a die-hard Allied player, I understand the pain, but we are currently mid-campaign of what should be our second win in a row.

I tried this game back in 2001 (i think) but was never able to get
connected. I take that back, after about 2 weeks of trying, I finally
got into the game. I ran and jumped into the back of a truck. It took
off for the front. After about 4 min. it stopped and I got out. There was
some shooting and when I lifted my gun to return fire, DISCONNECT !!
I NEVER tried again....(it had more bugs than a locust storm)

Its way passed those growing pains. The game is leaps and bounds beyond all that. In fact patch 1.27 is in live beta, hopefully going full live in 2 wks or so. You should both check it out, its adding a lot of new stuff and old content they've been wetting themselves want8ing to get in for years.

Mortars will be in, full Brigade based supply lists. No more cap an AB(armybase) and get full supply, all units are tied to a brigades alottment from Div HQ, so when you cap a town you have what you brought with you in terms of units remaining in supply. Re-supply will trickle in automatically provide you maintain a link to Div HQ and you dont out run your supply chain by extending your push too far away.

They threw in a few more fighters to round out the airforces, the Navy gets the next big dev cycle with the introduction of new river patrol boats with beefeed up guns and a MTB. You can also be re-suuplied in teh field now in vehicles, ATGs and I believe infantry. Players can drive supply trucks and auto re-supply ammo to firendlies in the area.

I think bailing out is close to reality and the supply trucks may also be able to provide some repair function in the future.

Anyway, all in all it is slowly but surely approaching the WWII nirvana we all hope it will be.
