It is indeed very sad that Gene passed.

I met him back in 96 before that dang Alztimers disease got him. He was one of the last "big" Icons (IMHO) of the Pacific Submarine war. At the time I met him, he was as sharp as a tack, full of information, and he seemed very happy. I'm glad I met him when I did, thats how I'll always remember him.
