They are blurry right in front of my nose too :/ Would have thought of the filtering too.
I just tested Fubar's U-552 skin. It looks really nice but the textures look still blured. I checked my graphics cards settings and the ansitropic filtering there was set to 8x, increased it to 16x now and there was a little knob which was turned to performance instead of quality. Changed that too.
One thing of which I'm not sure yet is my set of drivers for the graphics card. Some time ago I installed the omega drivers for the ati radeon cards instead of the original ones from ati.
(But they are based on ATI's catalyst drivers though.)
