The graphics are indeed very impressive but I feel the gameplay was very lacking. I realise this is a new game, but SHIII's gameplay is far better, as well as some of the finer point to the game. But overall I found the voyage from Pearl to Japan far too boring with nothing really to break up the monotony of the journey. At least with SHIII, a visit to the US eastern seaboard for Op Paukenschlag you have more chance to engage enemy convoys or single ships while on the way to your assigned patrol area.
Too many bugs and a feeling that UBI really rushed this one and were really not listening to the community as a whole has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
SHIII rocks and has done ever since it first come out, the genre is far more interesting in my opinion, maybe it's a European opinion. Maybe the US sub war really was too "secret" after all.

Well you too have some good points, but I for one think the crew management and damage interface is far superior in SHIV. Missions are more varied to make up for the monotony (and of course less danger) in the Pacific.
