Yup, I've got a few of those Air Ministry Pilot's Notes reprints (at the last count I had ones for the Spit V, the B-17, DC-3, Whirlwind and Horsa Glider), they make quite interesting reading if you like to press all the right switches and fly 'like the book'. The one I have for the Spitfire V always makes me laugh when I see it though, as it has a big note in the aerobatics section saying that 'flick maoeuvers are prohibited'.
And I know what you mean about WW2 bomber cockpits being small too, I once sat in a B-24 cockpit, and I couldn't believe how tiny it was, it was like being in a Fiat 126!
