Last night was the first time I'd encountered wether changes "in real time". Creeping forward at 1kt to attack a couple of Ore Carriers in a convoy at BE3951; I was in 0kts wind, clear skies, no fog. First ship had about 2000 yds to go before lining-up nicely when I popped-up the scope for a quick look. Whilst estimating times for the two Ore Carriers and deciding which to go for first, I noticed rain appearing - then the wind obviously increased as the swell swamped the scope. Then the visibility dropped to the point where I couldn't see a damn thing. Ended-up firing on estimates from the hydrophones. I was lucky. Two torps at each, four hits (magnetic) and they eventually both went down!
