I like both games, Get SHIV then when you need a change of pace load up SH3 GWX & vice versa.

But GWX does really prolong sh3 theres many more things you can do, go to Penang or command a IID in Constanza (just started up one, new career number 5

) Or maybe Trondheim, or Toulon. I could start talking about the uber paraniod escorts that are bent on sending you to the bottom but i dont want to scare anyone away from the game, you need nerves of steel.
