I was in the Solomons area just before the Guadacanal battle August of 1942 and I did a status report and got the lifeguard duty I have no idea how many guys I had to pick up but I gave up after 12 of them. They kept moving so fast it was hard to nail them all and eventualy they went over land and had to go to the other side of the island and catch some there but it wasn't easy with all of the planes flying over head in the battle did a lot of Plane shooting down until I ran out of Aircraft rounds. That is when I surenderd and headed to base.
