Great explanation heartc, that's exactly how I run my approaches. The only thing that complicates things a bit is that if your AOB is way off, adjusting speed won't always get you a good TDC solution. But your AOB has to be pretty far off for it to mess things up that much.

I try to nail down AOB as early as possible. Then it's just a matter of checking and adjusting speed every few minutes until the two bearings and their rate of change match (and of course resending bearing/range to the TDC too as I update speed).
