I thought it was useless. I can tell you however that when you fire, a torpedo is shown moving down it, and if the torp hits the target but fails to explode you'll see it bounce on the attack map. So it does sort of tell you where your solution was wrong - but that's cheating.

I wish....I wish you could use the plotting tools from the F5 map on the attack map too. Then it would be useful. You could keep your general nav markings on the Nav map and all your plotting for the attack on the F6 map.

It would make sense to do that, it would mean once the target is dead you can wipe your markings away without accidentally wiping your nav plan (happens to me all the time), and also you wouldn't have to keep switching screens to get to your tdc controls.

I noticed that in SH5 (i don't play it much, somehow doesn't grab me in the same way) the TDC is separated entirely from the attack map, yet they still have the attack map station - really what is the point of that station at all?
