SteamWake, read it again! I assumed (and I think you did too) that he was talking about the bug where the whole convoy stops dead when the leader is taken out.
But after re-reading, the OP specifically said he did
not have a good firing position and disengaged to get ahead and manuever for a more favorable position.
Sounds like he didn't fire a single fish and yet the convoy stopped anyway? I've never seen that behavior, don't think I've heard of it either. Only heard of this if the lead ship is sunk and convoy's stopped while apparently voting for the next leader (which is the essence of the bug, right?)
