Actually... with recent Wine you can play just fine. I am. With SH3 Commander, mods and everything.
Two-three gotchas:
- Grid map (AN44, etc.) is garbled. Easily worked around by having a paper grid map. Everything else about the map seems to work just fine.
- GWX 1.03 has crashes when starting campaigns, for some weird reason. Some hours of painstaking testing later, I found that stock SH3 and GWX 1.02 both work just fine for me. (probably Wine's or my fault, not the fine GWX creators)
- You must have a very current Wine. 0.9.38 or latest from git.
