Sometimes this happens to me, but I never loose a torpedo.

I'm travelling along looking at the torpedo load screen and either an aircraft or a ship comes into view. When I press "I" the screen doesnt go away. But it disappears when I move the mouse over it. To remedy this I just click on another station and problem is solved. This is with a TypeVIIB.
I play GWX1.03 loaded via SH3 commander.
