also - aspect ratio = length / mast height, right? and as i understand it BEAM is the width of the ship, right? then why am i getting bogus numbers sometimes using the lengths / mast heights ratio  ? even the TDC show a hit in front or back of the ship!  god i suk

You'll be able to play without it, cos you cannot hit anything, so it doesen't matter if the mast heights are more precise or not. Why you don't hit anything, has nothing to do with the mod, there's something else that is messing up things.
If you'd been bothered to read the first couple sentences about the mod in the original 1st page of the topic, you'd propably noticed that
you don't need earlier versions. 1.0 is the headline that couldn't be changed to 1.2b.
What comes to aspect ratio, I don't have a glue, it's totally useless feature in my boat.
