small teaser, typeXXI in July'44:
Been on a Murmansk-raid in this thing!...to hit our true and oldest enemy.
Have to say, the long way in was hazzardous, mostly because of the 2m of water under our keel....at schnorkel-depth!
But we pretty much cleaned up the entire harbor: first got rid of 2 DD's that were lying there stationary, then the rest was an easy prey.
Sank all targets but one, with 1 magn.torp, set at 1.1m below keel...the fish were zipping along the harbor-floor, great sight!
*edit* these 2 screens show the forw.planes-bug again.
I wonder if the closeness of the floor helped to increase the impact of the explosions...if rock, maybe?...if mud, maybe not?:
It was all finished in 15mins...gotta love that 2min-reload, lol.

Also decided to leave the 3 fishing-boats alone...allthough it was tempting to start using our 20mm flak-guns on them.
Now we just left the Murmansk-channel...and look what was sailing nearby. Left of the next ship in line, the coastline can still barely be seen:
A HUGE convoy of big cargos, all-American, with this in the middle...

How nice...still have loads of torpedoes, including 9 Zaunkönig-II's (G7es, acoustic homing at >10kts), and 6 LuT-I (G7a, ladder search pattern).
I love those LuT's...you can set them in the weirdest patterns you can dream of, from any direction. Shame they are gas/steam driven, though.
Next SH3-evening will be a long one, I'm pretty sure.

First, we have to keep this on our (GWX 16k-) stern for a couple of hours, so that we can setup for a submerged attack...at 49m. That's about the max that this boat can launch
