In my current career I'm sitting on the surface scratching my head as I check out the diesels and they both look like they should work (no damage). Unfortunately the machine men can't get the darn things to start.
It started as I had return fire from an armed merchant. He was a very bad shot so I stayed surfaced and allowed my gun crew to continue finnishing off the already badly listing merchant. Well, apparently the merchant's crew got a couple of lucky hits in, and they damaged a few systems, including my diesels. None of the damage was reported as being serious, and as I was sure the merchant would sink within the next two shots I continued my determined barage (due to some mod, apparently my highly trained naval gun crew could only get 1 shot off for every 3 shots the civilian merchantmen could return).
In the end the merchant was sunk and my damage control crew got to fixing anything that was damaged. Everything was repaired in good time and thats when we realized that the diesels just wouldn't fire up! I got under way on batteries at PD, but when the juice ran out I surfaced and still no deisels.
My question is, what gives? How can I show no damage to my engines and not have them able to get me home, even if limping? If they are destroyed, and they never were, it should show that in damage control. In fact they had little more than 3 pixels of damage indication when I started repairing them.
Grr, I just hope the damage system can get a good fix if they are going to patch this.
