When this happens to me, it is always a whale or shrimp.
You can see them pretty clearly in BB, but if you place yor cursor over the waterfall line, you can hear a distinct sound (whale's singing and shrimp....shrimping? :hmm:
), and therefore you can ignore it.
And if you go to NB, no lines are displayed.
