The bow of the boat when in the conning tower is in the direction of the steering wheel and guages. When diving, the camera tilts so that the steering wheel moves up (giving the impression the bow is rising, not diving.)
When you first enter the conning tower you are facing aft (the radar operator is aftward, the sonarman is foreward.)
